I hope you feel at home when you’re here! My goal as a photographer is to create moments that you not only want to hang in your home forever but that make you feel like home when looking at them.

Newport Recommendations ⛵️

Newport has become one of our favorite places to visit over the past five years! We’ve been several times and every time I find it so gorgeous and the seafood helps too 😉! I’m a huge history buff so places like Newport I eat right up as it’s stocked full of historical mansions, homes, restaurants, you name it. One thing I will say going into your trip is to know your budget. Newport is by no means a “budget friendly” trip, it’s definitely on the more expensive side but it’s super lovely and if you budget for it it makes it all the more enjoyable because you know going into it that you will spend a little more that you might normally! It’s the ultimate gilded age glam New England town and is full of charm and elegance. The beaches are stunningly beautiful and the gigantic rocky landscape makes you feel almost like your in a different country at times! Below I’ve listed some recommendations from our visits! I hope you enjoy and get to experience this lovely town for yourselves. ❤️⛵️

STAY:

Hammetts Hotel: Honestly highly recommend this hotel its the perfect location and convenient valet service for your car that ends up being worth it because you would have to pay to park on the street somewhere else so it’s really nice! The hotel is brand new and adorable and clean and has a lovely restaurant and bar open most of the day!

Hydrangea House Inn: I’ve been dying to stay here and haven’t been able to book yet but I’ve heard amazing things about the man who runs this Inn and the breakfast and amenities are supposed to be so beautiful and charming right downtown! Highly recommend this adorable Inn!

Admiral Sims Inn: I’ve also heard great things about this inn being very clean and accommodating and breakfast being really good and different every day! Also a pretty close location to everything.

Beech Tree Inn and Cottage: Have seen so many amazing reviews about how wonderful this Inn was to stay also. The breakfast also amazing and the place clean and beautiful.

Mill Street Inn: This place is more like a hotel than Inn with a more modern hip style with a more brick and stone moody style. Really cute and nice place to stay downtown!

COFFEE:

Starbucks:  There is a nice Starbucks within walking distance of the Hammetts Hotel I recommend and honestly it’s close to almost all of the inns right downtown as well!

Corner Cafe: lots of breakfast options

Cru Cafe: The one I mentioned under food! One of our favs, we love getting the crab cake with eggs benedict but they have so many great options!

The Nitro Bar: Modern clean coffee shop vibes all the way, legit coffee joint and healthy breakfast options!

Empire Tea and Coffee: Lots of Tea options besides just coffee

Do Not recommend: Coffee Grinder: I do not recommend this place, which I am not often to not recommend a place and be so harsh but oh my word most expensive coffee I’ve ever seen in my life and it wasn’t great at all. Sorry folks!

Kaffeology: Looks cute for dessert almost reminds me of nyc type drinks!

Belle’s Cafe: A nice casual waterfront spot with a cute interior and nice breakfast options as well!

Drift Cafe: Really great little spot for coffee and has cute little backdrops for photos!

FOOD: Try to make reservations ahead to as many as you can, especially Castle Hill Inn and White Horse Tavern.

Cru cafe: Same place mentioned above, great for lunch too! A must stop for us.

Mooring seafood : tons of seafood and a large menu for everyone. We’ve tried different things every time we’ve been to Newport at this place, it’s definitely a popular spot down town and you are right on the water.

Castle hill Inn: Go for Sunday Brunch!! It’s stunning! Make reservations for The Lawn and watch the boats and sail come into the harbor! We go every time!

White Horse Tavern: You MUST go! Probably our favorite spot! Oldest tavern in America and it’s actually the oldest even though others claim to be you can look it up hah! It’s a Colonial beautiful dinner ambiance higher end fine dining meals that were all exceptionally delicious.

FLO’s Clam Shack: Super yummy seafood especially if you like a lot of battered and fried seafood!

the Lobster Bar: Known for having some of the freshest and best seafood and your right on the water!

Sardellas: If for some reason you want nice cool cozy environment and Italian/pizza

THINGS TO DO:

•Breakers Mansion tour ( the biggest) it’s a must see! If you have to pick one go here! Bring your phone charged with headphones for all of the mansions to be able to download the mansion guides to be able to listen to information on each room it’s really good!

•Marble house tour  A tie between this and the Rose cliff as my second favorite tour! It’s insane how much money was put into this “smaller” mansion!

•Rose cliff mansion tour Just so stunning and has a french romantic design to it. Truly a beauty.

•Cliff walk start at Easton Beach or mid way between the Mansions, it’s a gorgeous walk on the ocean cliff side behind the mansions! A must do!

Beach: Easton Beach is the largest right by where you would start the cliff walk, there are also small beaches when you zoom in on the map towards the Ocean Drive like ( rejects beach, Bailey’s beach, etc). When we drive down towards the end on Ocean Drive would see little pull offs with sand and a small water access and park and hang there! I’m certain you will see them!

Scooter world: for scooter and buggy rides! This is a must do in my book! It’s so much fun to rent a scooter for a while and go ride around ocean drive and cross the bridge by Easton Beach and keep driving. The views are stunning and you can stop wherever and it’s just a more fun way to view all of the gorgeous homes and beaches!

Ocean Drive: When your at scooter world turn right out of there and just keep going straight and take a left on Ocean Drive and it will take you to all of the gorgeous homes and views down there.

•a super cool Car museum you should check out! Adrians Automobile Museum! It’s honestly really awesome and I’m not even a huge car person but I adore time period things and history! If you’re bringing your guy it’s a must see.

Shopping : lots of little shopping all over, really enjoyed the Shore Soap Co. right across Hammetts Hotel!

Walk: We love walking around the neighborhoods and mansions and ocean in the mornings. It’s honestly some of my favorite moments to just talk and enjoy Newport.

Now the best part is just driving out to the end of Newport where it loops around Ocean Drive and there tons of gorgeous ocean rocky views and beautiful homes, like I said we love doing this on the scooter as well! Sitting along the cliffs on the Cliff Walk, it’s just so peaceful and therapeutic! I hope you get to make it out to all who want to go because it’s truly a beauty!
